Overhaul
- Instrument stripped down.
- Mechnaism rods/screws de-grease.
- Thoroughly clean the body and mechnaism.
- De-pin the mechnaism to cleaned rods as required.
- Excessive mechanism movement removed.
- Complete re-pad, cork, felt and shim.
- Worn springs renewed.
- Tone holes re-dressed if worn or slightly chipped. (Wooden Flutes)
- Headcork renewed.
- Piccolo headjoint re-sealed.
- Minor realignment of keywork due to rough handling or damage caused in transit.
- Small dents in the body and headjoint removed.
- Head & footjoint fitting checked and adjusted if necessary.
- Mechanism oiled.
- Spring tension and venting adjusted.
- Obvious mechanism clatter removed.
- Padding regulation adjusted by mechanism screws, paper shims or cork.
- Instrument then tested.
Clarinet & Saxophone
Overhaul
- Instrument stripped down.
- Mechanism rods/screws de-grease.
- Thoroughly clean the body and mechnaism.
- Oil the bore of the clarinet.
- Excessive mechanism movement removed.
- Any chipped or worn tone holes re-dressed.
- Complete re-pad, cork, felt and shim.
- Worn springs renewed.
- Tone holes re-dressed if worn or slightly chipped.
- Minor realignment of keywork due to rough handling or damage caused in transit.
- Joint fitting checked.
- Mechanism oiled.
- Spring tension and venting adjusted.
- Obvious mechanism clatter removed.
- Padding regulation adjusted by mechanism screws, paper shims or cork.
- Instrument then tested.
